NIEA will deploy a water monitoring buoy in Loughinisland Lake week commencing 24th August for a period of 7 days. The buoy will monitor both the temperature of the lake and the dissolved oxygen levels over this defined period. When retreiving the buoy, NIEA will sample the surface water and the deep weater of the lake in order to further the research and our understanding of the water and it's environment.
NIEA will make these test results available to DDAALTD once completed and will be shared with the membership thereafter.
Update: 10/09/15
The monitoring buoy has now been removed from Loughinisland Lake by NIEA and once they have analysed the data, they will share it with us as agreed. We will keep the membership updated as to those results/findings.
Update: 21/10/15
We are now in the possession of the results of the data collected by the monitoring buoy placed on Loughinisland lake in August. We are preparing a brief resume of these results and will share them with the membership shortly.
